The Pacific Northwest Sportsmen’s Show was abuzz yesterday with one piece of information — there are going to be a bunch of Coho returning this year.
Numbers from throughout the aisle of the show ranged from 900,000 to 1.2 million. The official number? 983,100 Coho returning. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife released the following message and chart:
Ocean abundance (before any fisheries) of Columbia River coho is expected to be over 3 times larger than last year.
