NSIA has been pushing for years for legislation to offer some relief to the salmon populations in the Columbia Basin that being decimated year after year by increasing numbers of voracious sea lions. Finally this year we are seeing some progress, first with the passage in the U. S. House of Representatives of HR 2083, which would allow lethal take of protected marine mammals that are preying on endangered salmon runs.
