In what may be a critical turning point in the efforts to save the imperiled Columbia Basin salmon stocks, the fishing and conservation organizations (including NSIA) challenging the federal hydropower operations plan in the Columbia Basin, now seek to pause the litigation until next summer. The pause in litigation is part of a compromise between those organizations, the US government, the State of Oregon, and the Nez Perce that will give stakeholders time “to work together to develop and implement a comprehensive, long-term solution that could resolve the long-running litigation over dam operations.”
Below is the press release from Earthjustice on behalf of the litigants.
